I bought a half-bottle of their 1975 Zinfandel, which I still have in my cellar and will get around to drinking one of these days. There are four in today’s Dozen, and they are worth searching out. Complex – lovely floral and vanilla notes, nice touch of bitters at the edges and a savory finish. French in style.

Blend of Chardonnay, Roussanne, Viognier and Muscat, it has a fine structure with orange and light cinnamon flavors and nice bitters edges. A favorite for many years, here unfiltered and unfined, every time I taste its crisp, nutty, minerally flavors I wonder why I don’t drink it more often. Fair enough. 45% alcohol.
