So I was quite excited to taste this producer’s rosé The wine is a blend of 67% Syrah and 33% Mourvèdre grapes sourced from the stony limestone vineyards located in the hills above the bay of Marseille, next to Provence. Fontanafredda Briccotondo Barbera Piemonte DOC 2018 Fontanafredda, whose origins date back to 1858, is a 305-acre estate located in the Langhe region of Piedmont, Italy. 250 acres of vineyards spread throughout Serralunga d’Alba, which is a cru site of Barolo. The vineyard sits on 150 acres with vines that are 20+ years old.

Interestingly, the Georgians call “blends” those wines made from the same grape harvested over many vineyards. Diora 2018 La Grand Majesté Pinot Noir, San Bernabe AVA??. A rare appellation (AVA) with only one vineyard and one owner, San Bernabe is tucked under the Santa Lucia Mountains in Monterey County.
