Melrose Vineyards is located on the bench of the South Umpqua River where once stood an early French Settlement. Melrose Vineyards’ owners (Wayne and the late Deedy Parker) arrived in 1996 to make Umpqua Valley Wine. The original vineyard of 82 acres was planted in the summer of 1996. Trella Vineyards.

The 2015 growing season was a stellar year for Amarone producers. Due to these ideal climate conditions, 2015 presented as one of the finest vintages for Amarone in 30 years. After the grapes are handpicked, special drying rooms are used where the grapes are dried long and slowly on bamboo racks or straw mats for about three months.

The family dedicated itself to careful planting in the vineyard, and long maturation in the winery. Of special interest was the dry white wines served with the meal, both 100% Furmint from the Oremus estate in Hungary. They included the fresher Mandolas and the more savory, richer Petracs from a single vineyard.

The king’s son Count Emanuele Alberto of Mirafiori turned the estate into a full commercial winery with over 741 acres of wine vineyards.
