Beyond maturation, each of the six Lugana wines had a slightly different taste profile depending on the vineyard soil. The Soils Most vineyards feature dense mineral-rich clay soil, mostly glacial moronic. Attention to the environment and eco-sustainability have also led to organic certification. Grapes macerate before pressing.

Mendocino tends to be defined as “coastal or inland,” and the ocean’s cooling effects vary on the vineyards. Saracina Vineyards is a 250-acre family-owned ranch situated in Hopland along the Upper Russian River. The Lolonis vineyard has some of the oldest Sauvignon Blanc vines in the country, planted in 1942.

With winemaking roots from 1899, the family owns vineyards in Friuli Venezia Giulia, Veneto and Trentino. The Miotto vineyards on the hill of Santo Stefano di Valdobbiadene are located among the steep hills and valleys of the Cartizza area, a UNESCO World Heritage site for the traditional viticulture and winemaking methods.
