Photo courtesy of Esporão Today, my attention is directed to the Sustainability Program (WASP, Wines of Alentejo Sustainable Program) and five wines from producers who are active members in this program. The wines produced here come in a range of styles, influenced by the diversity of the climate and soil.

Beyond maturation, each of the six Lugana wines had a slightly different taste profile depending on the vineyard soil. The Soils Most vineyards feature dense mineral-rich clay soil, mostly glacial moronic. Attention to the environment and eco-sustainability have also led to organic certification. Grapes macerate before pressing.

All of the winery’s fruit comes from sustainable – farmed, estate vineyards scattered throughout the mild interior and cool coastal AVAs of the county. 2015 Matanzas Winery Red Blend. The Merlot was sourced from two blocks of the Jackson Park vineyard, planted with the Petrus clone. Very rich and elegant.

So, influenced by her grandmother, who was her “guiding light,” Ntsiki took the initiative and established Aslina Wines in 2016, naming it in honor of her grandmother. Aslina Sauvignon Blanc 2021 The grapes for this 100% Sauvignon blanc are sourced from the Stellenbosch region of South Africa and sustainably farmed.
