2006: The Year of Bodega Norton Malbec. 2006 marks the year that Bodega Norton Malbec, Malbec from other producers, and Bodega Norton’s Bordeaux style red blends became widely popular in the US Market. Today the Norton vineyards, managed by Mr. Langes–Swarovski’s son Michael, have over 680 hectares under vine.

Photo credit: Penny Weiss Most of my time at Domaine des Graves d’Ardonneau was spent with Fanny Rey, whose primary role is export manager, although she likes to call herself a “poly worker.” Laurent studied at the Faculty of Oenology in Bordeaux and joined the Domaine in 2006 as a winemaker. It is pretty heavy!

Beyond maturation, each of the six Lugana wines had a slightly different taste profile depending on the vineyard soil. The Soils Most vineyards feature dense mineral-rich clay soil, mostly glacial moronic. Vineyards are in the clay soil on the southern shores of Garda Lake. Racy acidity characterized yet all the Lugana wines.

When many businesses became privatized in 2006, Rrustem saw an opportunity to fulfill his dream. So, with enthusiasm and determination, Rrustem returned to Kosovo with the Gecaj family and purchased the NBI Rahoveci winery renaming it Stone Castle Vineyards and Winery. Avni is the importer, distributor, and manager of the family wines.

My favorite is the white blend, a melange of three really interesting grapes: barbera, chenin blanc, and colombard, the last being a grape traditionally used for making cognac, all sourced from sleeper vineyards across Mendocino Valley. i , and like a half a whiff of copper penny.
