The Spokane, Wash.-based coffee concept Wake Up Call is reportedly more than doubling in unit count with the acquisition of 13 Black Rock Coffee Bar locations in Washington state.

Known for its iconic red British phone box entryways in some units, Wake Up Call already operated 11 locations before picking up the mostly drive-thru units previously operated by Black Rock, according to The Spokesman-Review. The plan is to convert the Black Rock units to Wake Up Call.

Based in Oregon, Black Rock previously had  bought the 13 units from Roasters in 2021 after the founder stepped down. Black Rock operates or franchises more than 100 units, mostly in the West.

Wake Up Call was founded in 2004 in Spokane and has a menu of coffees and teas, as well as blended drinks, Italian sodas and energy drinks called Madhatters.
