The Maplehouse Egg Sandwich, the newest latest LTO from Einstein Bros. Bagels, rolls out Wednesday at participating locations nationwide.

The breakfast sandwich is built on a new Maple French Toast Gourmet Bagel, layered with cage-free eggs, pork sausage, crispy bacon and melted cheddar, then spread with a honey almond cream cheese shmear and drizzled with syrup.

“We’ve held nothing back in creating the ultimate sweet and savory breakfast experience,” Chad Thompson, head of culinary innovation at Einstein Bros. Bagels, said in a statement. To develop the LTO, the Denver, Colorado-based chain created the new French toast bagel and brought in pork sausage, both of which amplify the maple flavor.

Einstein Bros. Bagels, part of the Panera Brands family, specializes in freshly baked bagels and flavored cream cheese varieties. But the fast casual is growing R&D in the direction of heartier breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Among the most popular signatures are the All-Nighter Egg Sandwich, Farmhouse Egg Sandwich and Texas Brisket Egg Sandwich.

In 2020, the 600-plus unit chain introduced a brunch box for two, featuring a Farmhouse Egg Sandwich, Bacon & Cheddar Sandwich, two blueberry muffins and twice-baked hash browns.

The Maplehouse Egg Sandwich expands the lineup. It sells for $6.99 and runs through the end of summer.
