In his continuing partnership with Pei Wei Asian Kitchen, celebrity chef Jet Tila just added a new item to his signature collection: Firecracker Shrimp.

The lightly breaded shrimp, a new protein for the Irving, Texas-based fast casual, is a different twist on Pei Wei’s iconic Firecracker Chicken.

"The new Firecracker Shrimp takes our most popular sauce and pairs it with a new large crispy shrimp protein that we know will be a home run,” said Tila in an email. “The Firecracker sauce is a sweet and slightly spicy blend of soy and chili. This sauce coats and begins to caramelize on lightly breaded products like our Firecracker Shrimp and Chicken to add a little crunch to the flavorful pop of the sauce.”

Firecracker Shrimp debuts Wednesday and is priced at $11.99.

Tila's lineup of signature dishes has met with lots of success at the fast-casual’s 200 locations. The fan-favorite Firecracker Chicken quickly shot to the top of Pei Wei's bestsellers when it launched in mid-2021.

Along with the new shrimp dish, Pei Wei introduced a Salmon Poke Bowl to the menu. It features Tila’s spin on an Ahi Poke Bowl previously offered. The new version combines honey-ginger marinated salmon poke, scallions, cucumbers, pickled ginger, crispy onions and cilantro served over mixed greens and sushi rice and topped with the chain’s signature Yum Yum sauce.

“The Salmon Poke Bowl is a lighter option with a delicious honey ginger sauce and complementary ingredients that I would stack against any poke bowl out there," said Tila. “Pei Wei is all about offering a wide variety of incredibly craveable flavors.”
