EOI Campaigns “A crucial piece of the puzzle”

The food, hospitality and broader retail landscape is currently facing unprecedented challenges that will undoubtedly reshape it for years to come.

‘Out of adversity comes opportunity’ and it is Future Food’s belief that opportunity now exists to challenge the status quo, do things differently and employ a more holistic approach when attracting and engaging food and hospitality operators for your project.

The current state:

  • Retail vacancy rates across Australia’s Shopping Centres are currently the highest in more than two decades (approximately 5.1%, according to a survey by JLL)

  • There is the real possibility that up to 50% of total Food & Hospitality operators in hard-hit Covid locations may never reopen

  • Many Catering and Event Companies locked into long term management agreements and leases may be unable to meet the financial demands and require an exit strategy.

Understandably, Landlords and Centre Management will be eager to relet their shops and tenancies as soon as possible to the highest offer, however, a quick fix solution is not the recommended approach for the long term.

The decisions made now will be instrumental in ensuring consistent and long-lasting financial returns to landlords and even more importantly on a larger scale will be how the calibre and type of operator attracted will help in reactivating precincts as they bounce back from lock down and how they will actively drive greater customer engagement.

Short sightedness in terms of makeshift solutions will be detrimental in the long term and a more devised and considered strategy should be favoured.

For many years it has been rogue Leasing Agents doing deals (many of which have been financially motivated) which ultimately impact the Landlord and the wider precinct in which they operate. The negative impact that this can have has become the cornerstone of why more and more of our clients are now actively seeking a more holistic approach in identifying, targeting and engaging with the best operators in the market.

Future Food provide the industry knowledge and specialist insight relating to food and hospitality that is unmatched and cannot be replicated when it comes to knowing what the customer wants, best practice operators in the market and forecasting food and hospitality trends that help in future proofing and planning.

A detailed and considered strategy coupled with an expertly facilitated Expression Of Interest (EOI) Campaign ensures a clear vision and objective is established and clearly articulated to all interested operators throughout the process.

Following a recent Future Food consultancy, the affiliated Design Manager commented – “The EOI strategy is fabulous, I haven’t heard of it until I worked on this project! Genius!”

A structured and planned EOI Campaign allows for greater accountability, greater visibility and greater control, ensuring a more thorough and methodical process is conducted, without financial incentives blurring decision making and the sole focus is on creating benchmark food & hospitality destinations and exceptional customer experiences.

Key Benefits:

  • Partnering with a true client-focused advisor

  • We are Food & Hospitality Specialists

  • We are not Leasing – No Commission

  • We are industry networkers

  • We can connect the asset/opportunity with the best operators at various levels

  • Totally independent

  • We entrench ourselves in the asset’s business case and provide industry insight and financial analysis regarding the opportunity – volume of food, mix, ethos, culture and business focus

We all know how deflating it can be when your vision, blueprint or strategy has been painstakingly master planned, but then the end result is far from what was imagined.

The transition of responsibilities from one person to the next can, and often does, lead to misalignment or a change of tack, ultimately leading to a conclusion which is vastly disparate from the desired outcome.

From a Consultant’s stand-point it is crucial to maintain control and safeguard your vision to achieve the projected outcomes and to ensure a positive result is realised.

Developing the core strategy and vision, gaining the essential buy-in from all Stakeholder groups and executing the plan through professionally and expertly managed EOI processes, has been tried and tested with proven success.

Future Food have consulted to Councils, Universities, Shopping Centres, Clubs, Cultural and Entertainment Precincts, Airports, Event Centres and more, helping them realise their vision through engaging only the best of the best operators and facilitating long term future success-driven partnerships.
