Punch Joins the Eater Family

The award-winning drinks site is our new sister publication

Punch, the beloved and award-winning drinks publication, is joining Vox Media as a sister publication to Eater. Founded in 2013 by editor-in-chief (and former Eater contributor) Talia Baiocchi as an independent brand within book publisher Penguin Random House, Punch is a destination for quality storytelling and rich photography surrounding the world of bars, spirits, and drinking culture. It’s a go-to for the industry as well as cocktail enthusiasts and consumers who want to stay on top of what’s happening in the world of (both boozy and zero proof) drinks.

And it’s a perfect complement to Eater, allowing us to expand our focus on service, reporting, and storytelling beyond restaurants and food culture. Meanwhile, Punch will be supported by Eater and Vox Media’s broader resources across production, development, revenue, marketing, and events expertise.

Though the two publications will collaborate, Punch will remain a separate entity, not a drinks section of Eater. Baiocchi and her team of writers and creators will continue the industry-leading work they do, with more support for their ambitions.

We are excited for our Eater audience to learn more about Punch, an indispensable resource for drinking well.
