As a business, your top priority should be your customer. Your customer’s experience with your business will determine if they return, so it’s important they are satisfied. Customers’ top desire in a business is convenience. It’s important to not just have a customer-friendly business, but also a customer convenient one. You can be polite and smiley as much as you like, but if it’s complicated to make a sale or hard to get in touch, people aren’t going to come back to shop with you,
To refine the element of good customer service, it’s important to consider what you can do to improve your business. A modern business is a convenient place to shop, and that’s everything the current buying generation wants from you. Here are three ways to make your business more customer convenient.
1. Man the customer service desk 24/7
One thing that makes the customer experience more convenient is access to information and help. Customer service desks provide people with a resource for any inquiries about your business.
A customer service desk doesn’t technically need to be run 24/7, it just needs to feel like it is. To do this, you can set up automated replies, but you can also allow people to use AI chatbots to help them get relevant information.
This can at least offer them a navigational path to take through your website. However, if they need additional help, it can also provide relevant contact details.
You can even staff your customer service outside of non-traditional hours when people are more likely to be shopping. For example, allow your staff to work from home to do this for at least a couple of hours after 5 PM, as people like to shop when they get home from work.
2. Shorten line times
No one likes a long line. If you have lines, both online and in-store, it’s going to be hard to make a full day’s profit.
People will simply abandon their baskets if they can’t be bothered to wait, and that’s about 95% of the people who come through the door. So make sure your website has plenty of bandwidth, server space, and little to no latency.
In-person, having more than one point of sale will work wonders here. You don’t even need another register. Instead, you can use something like a Bluetooth card reader to allow people to pay one by one down the line. This will allow you to check out customers at the register, while simultaneously checking out customers on the Bluetooth device until the store is clear again.
3. Create relevant online content
Relevant online content can help increase customers’ convenience as it can point people in the right direction. Proper online content should help them to find out more about a product and how to use it.
Post on social media, and consider creating a blog section for your website. Here customers can learn more about your business and stay engaged with relevant articles.
Content such as FAQs and how-to guides are two great types here, and if there’s plenty of content to get through, your customers aren’t going to run out of reasons to visit your blog or site either.
Make sure this content is expertly written by people who know your products inside and out. You want to give high-quality advice here that’ll help keep people from needing to email you directly. This isn’t a bad thing, it’s just more convenient for everyone!
Become more customer convenient
Creating an exceptional customer experience is important for the success of your business, as it keeps customers coming back. The best way to do this is by making your business more customer convenient. Try incorporating the above steps to get started in becoming more customer convenient.
