86’d: 7shifts’ old dirty apron.

In: A refreshed 7shifts uniform.

That’s right. With our new logo and brand design, we’re renewing our focus on our restaurant partners for the years ahead.

Today, I’m excited to share our updated brand and what’s to come for our amazing customers — including why we made these changes and how we’ve connected the entire restaurant employee experience.

Our now-old logo has been around since 2013. It’s from a time when 66% of our customers weren’t restaurants — we’re talking retail stores, smoke shops, and dog groomers. While we learned a lot from our customers in those days, we quickly realized our efforts were best focused on helping restaurants: 7shifts' day one inspiration.

Over the years, we've transformed from a simple scheduling tool into a robust app for scheduling, payroll, and employee retention, exclusively built for the industry. Today, restaurants comprise 100% of our customer base.

While 7shifts’ team and product have grown, the way we look has stayed the same. As we celebrated our 10th birthday, it was high time to update our visuals to reflect who we are today and what we’re building for the future.

So late last year, we put our heads together to create an updated visual identity that reflects our relentless focus on the restaurant industry.

We admit it’s not a drastic change — it’s more of an evolution of the 7shifts you all know. It’s inspired by the industry we serve: colorful, vibrant, and bold. It works and looks great everywhere — from the icon on your home screen to the front of a ball cap.

We know you have a million things on your plate, so we won’t dive into the nitty-gritty of the 7's curves and why every pixel is where it is. But we will share that at the heart of this rebrand was the desire to better reflect our passion for this exciting and resilient industry.

While we have a new look, nothing about our focus changes — it’s only getting stronger. We’re bringing together all aspects of your team management tasks to cover the entire employee journey. From a team member’s first shift onward, 7shifts remain there every step of the way.

Last year, we launched 7shifts Payroll product, the only true end-to-end solution for hospitality that handles it all, from scheduling, time clocking, auto tip pooling calculations, and instant tip payouts, to then funneling all the appropriate tax handling and deductions through to payroll. Because 7shifts Payroll is deeply embedded in our existing platform of easy-to-use products, there are fewer mistakes and more time saved. Teams can really stay in one place to do it all. So far, we've paid out more than $50 million in wages to more than 10,000 hospitality workers across the USA.

We also recognize that employees are the driving force behind restaurant success. Regular feedback loops form great cultures that people want to be part of, so we made engagement tools to facilitate that in a simple, measurable way. Every voice is heard because every voice has value. 88% of teams using the Engage report improved team morale, retention, or performance, which is a huge win considering current industry conditions.

Going into the second half of 2024, we're doubling down on making our Tip Management and Payroll products even more robust. We understand the importance of accurate and efficient team payments and are committed to providing world-class solutions to make it easier.

While the look of 7shifts changes, our commitment to enhancing the user experience will be at the forefront — ensuring that 7shifts functions even better and simpler than ever.

This refresh is inspired by you, our customers. We are excited to launch a new brand identity that reflects our commitment to being a trusted hospitality partner as you build and grow your restaurant teams.

We’re still 7shifts. And we’re built to serve restaurant pros today and into the future.
