Fast Casual DMV restaurant sales ended June with a bang!

As summer comes into full swing, June saw continued moderate growth for both Fast Casual and Full Service segments.

Full Service's year-over-year monthly sales ended up at 1% growth for June, with Fast Casual coming in on top at a very healthy 6% growth.

Across a 7-day moving average, Full Service ended the month net neutral with June 2022's sales, and peaked in the beginning of the month around 6%. Fast Casual saw a very strong June, peaking around 11% during the second week of the month.

Overall sales ended up positive at 1% during the last week of June, with the majority of the month staying very positive sales-wise.

Delivery sales increased last month for the DMV (at 11%) and stayed the same nation-wide (at 12%). The two percent increase from last month may be linked to poor air quality in the DMV due to Canadian fires, keeping diners hunkered down in their homes. This could also point to why Fast Casual outperformed Full Service in terms of growth for the first time in over a year. As the air clears we're hopeful to see Full Service's usual growth come back full swing (and then some!).

We'll see you in August!
