With so many competitors, how can you create a brand on Instagram that stands out?
It is easy for new influencers to feel unseen on Instagram. After all, there are over a billion people who use it every day!
Here is how to create a knockout brand on Instagram:
1. Have a Clear Vision
Before you begin creating your brand, you have to have a vision of what you want it to be. The “what” you create comes from the reason why you want to be an influencer.
Your brand has to stem from passion.
Genuine enthusiasm about the content you create is how you gain viewers’ trust. Establishing and maintaining this trust is essential for any brand.
2. Use a Catchy Phrase
Another way to help viewers remember your brand is having a repeated phrase, opening/closing, or motto that you say often in posts and videos.
Be creative and have fun!
Just about anything can become a catchy phrase when said enough times. Of course, the length, tone, and flow of the phrase are contributing factors to its success.
3. Be Confident
Being confident on social media is crucial to standing out.
If there is hesitation or uncertainty in the delivery of content on your Instagram, people tend to tune out and look for a different page or profile.
Confidence can be tricky to gain at first, but remember that this is your PASSION. Trust yourself and if a post doesn’t go quite right, take a breath and try again.
Don’t be afraid to put yourself out there.
Let your friends and family know what you are up to!
Sometimes new influencers feel a bit embarrassed letting their “real life” people know about their online presence.
Taking that leap of faith is all about following your passion.
4. Understand Your Target Audience
Always keep in mind your target audience. Who do you want to reach? Who are you currently reaching?
Understanding those two groups is crucial to creating and maintaining a successful brand.
Knowing what appeals to your target audience and exploring how those trends can relate to your content is an easy way to get more views. It will also likely help you get more followers.
5. Size Up Competitors
There is no shame in looking at what other influencers in your niche are creating.
Other influencers are the PERFECT source of inspiration. Their pages can give you a sense of what kinds of posts you are capable of. Likewise, you can learn from their mistakes.
- What isn’t working for their brand?
- How are followers responding?
- What are they saying they like/dislike?
Be sure to look at more than one other influencer to make sure your results are more substantial. The more learning opportunities the better!
6. Know There Is Room To Grow
You may not have all the details laid out at first, but having plans for the future of your brand is also important to keep in mind.
For instance, if you’re a beauty influencer, you may want to keep your brand attractive to larger companies for future collaboration opportunities. Maybe you’ll want to create merch or products in the future.
Make sure to be open to all possibilities.
Creating a stand out brand is trial and error. It can take a while for your Instagram brand to land.
Persistence is key, and you can always reinvent your brand.
