Blogging, being an influencer, and owning your own business are not mutually exclusive or uncommon in today’s world.
However, managing all of your many businesses, talents, and hobbies can be time consuming. If you are too busy simply managing the day-to-day of everything you do, you are going to fall behind. You will start to become irrelevant.
“Without an effort to learn and adapt your strategy as the times change, your current efforts can miss the mark and go to waste,” writes Elizabeth Chung of Classy.
So, don’t go “out of style,” see our tips below for how to stay relevant as an influencer, blogger, and entrepreneur.
INFLUENCER
1. Know your tech
In order to stay relevant to your audience, you need to connect with them in the ways that they expect.
If your audience is millennials, they call for engagement with evolving technology such as smartphones.
“They want to be able to use digital platforms to take action and share the [influencers] they care about with each other,” writes Chung.
2. Connect with other influencers
Influencers build good networks. Contact with one another engages conversations on what each person posts about and why it is relevant to their audience.
This, ultimately, leads to brand building and reorganization, so that you make sure you are satisfying your consumer’s aesthetic needs. Having a network of influencers, in turn, can also keep your brand relevant by talking to their own audience about your brand.
BLOGGER
1. Study hard
If you aren’t keeping up with industry news or cultural changes, then your blog will most likely fizzle out.
To combat this issue, try regularly setting “aside time to catch up on fresh, quality reading material that educates you on how to stay relevant in all aspects of your operations,” says Chung.

2. Don’t waste time
Yes, spending time on the everyday, menial tasks of operating your blog are important, but you need to focus your time on what matters– your new, fascinating content.
According to Blog Advice, “after creating your content then you need to market that content by promoting it on your social media platforms to your readers and followers. When you promote your content to social media and to other bloggers do not be afraid to ask for shares and comments.”
ENTREPRENEUR
1. Talk to your customer
Brain Lischer of Forbes said it best when he wrote: “You might be the best at what you do, but don’t assume you know best what your customers want.”
One easy way to find out what issues your consumers are experiencing is to post an Instagram story with a question and answer sticker on your brand’s account.
Not only will your entire industry community see that you are engaged with customers and concerned about their problems, but you will also actively be helping your consumers in real-time.
The information you receive from your Instagram stories will be important for showing the real value you’re providing your customers in this day and age.
2. Go to a conference
Conferences bring together your industry’s leaders from around the world for an informative, innovative, and international experience.
Conferences provide a space to talk about your current business plans, share solutions on how to fix your customers’ problems, and ideate new products.
“In the quest to stay relevant, there’s nothing like participating in these discussions to share knowledge and experiences,” says Chung.
These are merely some tips and tricks to help you think about your brand, and hopefully, you’re using some of these ideas already!
