McConnell’s Irish Whiskey

Sponsor

Plenty of Irish whisky brands can claim a long history, but few are quite as long-lived as McConnell’s. The whisky was first produced in Northern Ireland in 1776 by two enterprising brothers and continued uninterrupted for more than 150 years until Prohibition in America eliminated their biggest customer. Recently resurrected by Conecuh Brands, this whisky is a recreation of the original that has been produced with the help of Great Northern Distillery while McConnell’s new distillery is being constructed on the site of the historic Crumlin Road Jail in Belfast. It’s a blend of malt and grain whiskies that evokes a timeless Irish whisky profile, from its honeyed aroma of toasted cereals to a fresh, rounded palate showcasing sweet, creamy notes of vanilla custard and marzipan.
