The name of this business can be misleading. At first glance, you assume it’s a killer donut eatery and bakery. However, the fantastic menu doesn’t end there.

Federal Donuts is actually an incredible place to get fried chicken in Philadelphia. One of the top options is their fried chicken sandwich or a chicken basket, complete with a donut on the side!

There are many locations throughout the city, with one of the most popular being on South 2nd Street. If you are in a hurry, you can order online for pick-up and enjoy your food on the go.

Bud & Marilyn’s

I love walking into Bud & Marilyn’s because it’s reminiscent of the 1970s, with decor and accents to match.

The restaurant has been in business for over 20 years and serves up some of the most outstanding fried chicken you can find in the greater Philly area.

You can find this restaurant and its top-notch fried chicken in Midtown Village. Taking public transit to the 12th/13th and Locust Street Station, you can reach Bud & Marilyn’s in just a few quick steps.

I have had both the Marilyn and Nashville fried chicken options and can report that both are incredible and drool-worthy.

Andy’s Chicken

2001 Memphis St, Philadelphia, PA 19125
Phone: (215) 291-0700

Hoping to try some new flavors? Head over to Andy’s Chicken. This local restaurant serves Korean fried chicken and rice dishes.

Housed in a casual and small interior, this spot is great for takeout or a meal on the go.

Andy’s Chicken offers a fairly short menu, but what it lacks in size it makes up for in flavor. Try out the honey garlic chicken, bulgogi, golden soy chicken, or kimchi and pork fried rice.

Make sure to grab some fries, onion rings, or mac salad on the side!

The name of this restaurant is perfect for what it offers on its menu. In addition to phenomenal dishes, you can experience frequent jazz performances by local artists.

Pairing a fantastic performance with your favorite Southern delicacies is the perfect combination.

When it comes to fried chicken, Philadelphia doesn’t mess around. And South comes through for its diners tenfold.

Located on the border of Spring Garden and West Poplar, you can find ample parking throughout the neighborhood. It’s important to know that South is only open in the evenings, beginning at 5 PM.

Additionally, they are only in operation from Thursday through Sunday.

On every day but Monday, you can stop into the local eatery Foghorn for their famous fried chicken. Not only can you find chicken, but the menu also offers various types of seafood.

Another menu item they offer that is entirely underrated, in my opinion, is the house-made pickles. I always order some to add to my meal and can never get enough.

You can find Foghorn next to the Schuylkill River, which provides a glimpse of a view from the restaurant. After eating, you can stroll through Inn Yard Park, which is across the street.

Wishbone – Center City

Founded in 2013, Wishbone is a well-known spot for some great food. You’ll find fried chicken, wings, and beer at this place. Owned by two seasoned chefs, it’s no surprise that the offerings here are so enticing.

There’s sandwiches, fried chicken, salads, sides, and plenty of desserts on Wishbone’s menu. Be sure to try the classic white meat chicken tenders, banh mi sandwich, Wishbone wings, or the Wishbone signature sandwich. Don’t forget to finish with some dessert or a beer!

Crunchik’n

With a 4.7-star rating on Google, it’s safe to say that people love Crunchik’n. Serving Korean style fried chicken and other dishes, this Philly spot is a must-try. Prioritizing high quality food and ingredients, it’s no wonder the food here is so good.

The menu at Crunchik’n is pretty expansive, so if you can’t decide what to order, we recommend the popcorn chicken, wings, cheese crunch dog, or a crunchbox. They also have plenty of vegetarian options!

As you can see, there are so many options for fried chicken when it comes to Philadelphia. With so many different unique twists on the dish and accompanying dishes, you may have to try them all. We won’t judge you!
