Do you have multiple social media accounts for your business? Are you interested to grow your following on Instagram? If so, then you have come to the right place.
One way many businesses complement their product or service is by operating a blog.
These blogs can be created by those working for the company, but are often the result of guest posts from other professionals and interested individuals.
If you’re like Elaine Rau, the founder of LadyBossBlogger, then you love to support other women by having them share their businesses, social media, and contact information on your blog.
These blog posts can be shared on your social media and promoted by the author on their own Instagram accounts. This is not only a sure-fire way to grow your following but also provides a chance to support other business owners.
For this article, we will look at how a blog and a supportive community can foster growth on your Instagram accounts.
1. Follow the authors of guest posts on your blog
Like the mini-bio says below, I am an intern at LadyBossBlogger. One of the first tasks I was assigned was to grow our Instagram following.
It took a lot of research, but I eventually grew our following by over 200% in about two months.
How?
I utilized our blog!
The guest post authors on our blog wanted to write for our audience because our readers paralleled their target market for their brands.
More often than not, our writers are part of our target audience too. So, by following the authors of our posts on Instagram, they followed us back to show support!
A win-win scenario! We promoted the writer’s business, and they supported ours in return.
2. Like photos in your niche
Another way to grow your following is by going through and liking five to ten photos on your target market’s accounts.
How do you find users in your niche? Well for starters, check #1 in our list! Secondly, check hashtags or view the followers of who you already follow.
“It would also help to leave a genuine comment and give them a follow,” says Melyssa Griffin. There is nothing wrong with having more people you follow than people who follow you when you first start out.
However, this primarily works if you like and comment on photos from users in your niche.
3. Reach out to other blogs to guest post
We know, we know. Writing posts is a lot of extra work, especially while you are already busy running the entirety of your business.
However, writing guest posts for other blogs and businesses can help you reach a market you never thought about before. Just make sure you link your Instagram accounts to your post!
If you do reach out to a business to write a guest post and they do not accept your offer, no need to worry!
It is perfectly okay to ask for a follow from their Instagram account. A lot of their own followers will check who they follow and follow those accounts as well. You get new followers and don’t have to do as much work!
4. Promote your blog posts across multiple channels
Many brands, like LadyBossBlogger, have multiple accounts for different parts of their business.
For example, we have multiple accounts for different languages, multiple illustration accounts, and an account for our blog.
- @LadyBossBlogger
- @LadyBossBlogger.spanish
- @LadyBossBlogger.chinese
- @LadyBossBlogger.french
- @LadyBossBlogger.swahili
- @LadyBossBlogger.shop
- @LadyBossInfluencer
- @LadyBossIllustrations
- @LadyBossBloggerCourses
- @LadyBossCourses
It is okay to have these multiple accounts, as long as you stick to a cohesive theme or aesthetic across them all.
Because your businesses are, ultimately, connected to one another, promoting your accounts across one another is perfectly okay!
Another way to promote your business accounts through one another is by tagging your accounts in your posts when applicable.
5. Link your Instagram accounts to your other social media
If you have a Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, or LinkedIn in addition to your Instagram and blog, then you might assume your followers on one account are already following you on every platform, but they most likely are not.
Griffin suggests sharing “a quick tweet or Facebook post encouraging [your audience] to follow you on Instagram…it will reel in more followers than you think. This will help your followers on other networks discover your Instagram account — and proceed to follow you there, too!”
If you are still confused as to how this helps with the growth of your following on all your Instagram accounts, don’t worry! Simply repeat these steps for each account you run.
It may be tedious, but it is effective to grow your audience on all your Instagram accounts!
