This shows consumers are willing pay higher prices for their meals when dining out a restaurant, but only time and the economy will tell for how long they will be willing to do so. In addition, customers enjoy going to restaurants with a transparent and open kitchen so they can view how the food is being prepared. Youthful consumers are also enjoying having late-night meals with their friends as well. That being said, more diners are ordering their food to-go than ever.

3. Technological Trends

Technology has proven to be a restaurant’s best friend. Whether it is diners going online to Instagram to view pictures of tasty dishes or using a website to order their takeout, technology is making restaurants more convenient and appetizing than ever before. Now apps are devoted to creating customer loyalty programs and ordering food as well. Automated technology like on-table tablets or kiosks enables restaurants to provide quicker service. As Uber Eats and other delivery services increase in popularity, technology will only become more relevant.

As consumer lifestyles change, their dining preferences follow suit. Now, diners are requesting healthier foods and that it is reflected in all sectors of the food industry.
