Biryani is Again won the title of the most ordered dish on Swiggy – As per the latest report from Swiggy.
Indians order average 95 biryanis per minute and 1.6 biryanis every second from Swiggy in 2019, the online food delivery platform said on Monday.
In fact, biryani is the most common first order by new users on Swiggy, according to the company`s fourth yearly `StatEATistics` report on India`s food ordering habits. As per the report by Zeebiz
Biryani has topped the list of the most ordered dish for the third year in a row.
Nevertheless, the year demand for `khichdi` is also increased. Orders for khichdi on Swiggy increased 128 per cent this year.
The significant increase was noticed during the festive period of Navaratri. Further, a variety of thalis like “methi malai paneer, dhaba dal with rice and chapatis thali, gobi matar masala, dal makhani with jeera rice and chapatis thali and the mini dosa, idli, vada and sambar thali” have found a special place on consumers’ meal tables.

A Besides 1.76 million “gulab jamun orders” and 200,301 orders for “halwa” in 2019, “falooda” is the newest entry to the top desserts on Swiggy with nearly 1.2 million orders this year. A special ice-cream filled “falooda” was ordered over 6,000 times in Mumbai. Another favourite, “choco pie and drink”, got 79,242 orders in Chandigarh alone.

Overall, the most loved dishes in 2019 were chicken biryani, masala dosa, chicken fried rice, paneer butter masala, mutton biryani, dal makhani, chicken dum biryani, veg fried rice, veg biryani and tandoori chicken said the report.
