The Future of Restaurants & Cafes after the Pandemic – Podcast Interview

It was great to talk with hospitality industry expert Michelle Pascoe on The Michelle Pascoe Hospitality Podcast, about what I see as the future of restaurants, cafes and foodservice after the pandemic storms settle.

I’ve already shared some of my thoughts on how we should expect a tough and demanding summer and the importance of having a Plan B for the next Covid Lockdown. But people still want to eat out, share time with friends and entertain – there are many opportunities for businesses that are agile and ready to create a streamlined model that is hyper-responsive to customers.

We discussed affordable service levels, automation in the kitchen, bar and front of house, recruitment in a time of severe staff shortages, and the most effective types of marketing. Plus a couple of my favourite topics: diversification and the importance of culture to attract and keep good staff. I appreciated Michelle pressing the Start button and letting me be passionate and opinionated – we had a great conversation!
