The options below go above and beyond to create unique dining experiences for all. Any private dining experience needs to be unforgettable.


Bacchus – A Bartolotta Restaurant

Ranked one of the 100 Best Wine Restaurants in America, Bacchus is an iconic steakhouse with high-class menu options. Located across the street from Juneau Park with distant harbor views, Bacchus gives guests refinement to the highest degree.

Bacchus is inside the Cudahy building on the first floor and has indoor and outdoor seating. The largest private dining room holds up to 100 guests, while the smallest fits 30 people. The private dining menu at Bacchus is relatively straightforward, making it ideal for large groups with people of all ages.

Food options include filet mignon with potatoes, shrimp cocktails, and mouthwatering desserts such as molten hazelnut cake.


Mo’s…A Place for Steaks

With intimate, moody environs and Milwaukee-legend status, Mo’s is the quintessential steakhouse. They have a few small private dining rooms available, but you can also rent the large lounge area for bigger soirees. Mo’s faces the Milwaukee river and neighbors the Riverside Theater for premium views. 

Mo’s does not have a designated private dining menu available, but their regular dining menu has Wagyu beef, bacon-wrapped scallops, and Chilean Sea Bass. With fresh and high-quality meats coupled with one of their exclusive wines, your guests will have the meal of a lifetime.


Mason Street Grill

Mason Street Grill is a top choice for romantic private dining. They have five private dining spaces, and menus are customizable. The Pfister room is the largest – it fits up to 70 guests. The mid-size rooms fit about 30, while the smallest fits 12 guests comfortably. You can find the Mason Street Grill on the corner of East Mason and North Jefferson.

Since the private dining menus are customized to fit the needs of each group, there is no set menu for private dining. Typical Mason Street Grill items include beef carpaccio, shrimp and grits, and steak fries.  


Milwaukee ChopHouse

Traditional, classic, and above all, delicious, Milwaukee ChopHouse is a local favorite for private dining events. With white tablecloths and art-deco digs, your guests will feel like a million bucks. If you want to be in the center of Brew City, the ChopHouse is your best bet. Located inside the Hilton in the hub of Milwaukee, your party will dine amongst city lights and views. Milwaukee ChopHouse sits where North Fifth Street and West Wisconsin Avenue intersect.

Milwaukee ChopHouse does not list a specific menu for private dining. However, their usual selections include a wide range of beef cuts, such as New York Strip and Tomahawk pork chops. Seafood fares include jumbo prawns and diver scallops.


The Chef’s Table

If you are on the hunt for something exclusive and innovative, The Chef’s Table has you covered. Hidden away in a warehouse on South 3rd Street, The Chef’s Table has personalized private dining options and prix fixe culinary events. There is no sign for The Chef’s Table, and the door remains locked. The vibe is elegant but eclectic, with pots and pans lining the walls and cozy armchairs for relaxing.

The Chef’s Table recommends getting the Chef’s choice prix fixe menu for your private dining soiree, but the contents of that menu are kept secret until the event. Each menu comes with 5-6 courses, wine, and coffee for $150/guest.


The Capital Grille

Romantic and atmospheric, The Capital Grille makes a perfect rehearsal dinner setting. They have two rooms available for private dining – the Federal Room and the Wine Room.

The Federal holds about 32 people, while the Wine Room holds 24. The Capital Grille is on the opposite side of the Wisconsin Center from the Milwaukee ChopHouse, down the street from the Warner Grand Theater.

There are several private dining menus available. The most affordable menu offers fewer choices than the mid-range and expensive menu but still gives guests multiple entree selections.


Carnevor

Carnevor is an innovative steakhouse located near the Pfister Hotel. Dark, masculine decor and rustic seating give it a rugged feel, but the atmosphere remains refined.

There are two options for private dining at Carnevor. The Raptor Room accommodates 25 people and is the most secluded, while the Library Room holds about 20 people and is semi-private. You will find Carnevor near the northern end of North Milwaukee, next to the Hotel Metro.

The menu choices for private dining at Carnevor are three or four-course custom menus. There are no set menus available, but some options are lobster bisque, bone-in ribeye, and creme brulee. Both rooms offer wine selections and cocktails.


Ward’s House of Prime

A few blocks north of Carnevor is Ward’s House of Prime, an upscale steakhouse beloved by locals. Ward’s has four private dining rooms – The Rite Hite room, The Rocko, The Nelson, and the Lounge.

The Lounge is the primary choice for large groups. Ward’s is about a block away from the famed Cathedral Square Park in the East Town neighborhood of Milwaukee. Ward’s has one of the more expansive private dining menus on this list, with five pricing tiers available.

Starting at $55, guests can enjoy prime rib bites, an 8oz prime rib, and family-style sides. The highest tier is $75/person with selections like a 10oz filet and shrimp cocktail.


Braise Restaurant & Culinary School

Modern, chic, and cozy, Braise Restaurant is the perfect venue for fall or winter dinner parties. They have a second-floor event space that accommodates 45 guests and an outdoor space addition that fits cocktail parties up to 90. Braise is in the Harbor View district amongst several Milwaukee attractions like the Cheesehead Factory and the Allen-Bradley clock tower.  

Braise offers four menus for private dining. The family-style menu is $35/person and allows for two entree choices, and the individual menu is $45/person with three entree choices. The other menus are appetizer and dessert fares.

Onesto is an authentic Italian restaurant on the Milwaukee River. The private room at Onesto hosts 75 seated guests. Onesto has a laid-back, homestyle Italian feel but with subtle touches of elegance. The secluded space is expansive and straightforward – you can decorate however you see fit.

The private dining menu at Onesto is unpretentious but refined. Highlights are the Italian Market Table, in which the Chef picks meats and cheeses for an edible display, and the grilled pistachio pesto shrimp. All pasta is fresh and hand-made in the restaurant daily. 


Marcus Restaurant Group

They also have lounges available for private dinings, like the well-known Blu Lounge or the Olive. A more casual offering is the Miller Time Pub & Grill. You can visit the Marcus Restaurant Group on North Water Street and East Wisconsin Avenue.

Ideal for small private parties, Story Hill BKC is slightly out of downtown but still has an urban vibe. Their intimate dining space accommodates up to 12 people, and the area is modern and youthful, with views of the surrounding Bluemound District.

You will find Story Hill BKC near the Calvary Cemetery and Mausoleum, a popular tourist destination. The restaurant is about a 10-minute drive from the harbor.

Story Hill is flexible in its menu choices. Private parties can create a custom menu or order from the usual restaurant menu – food and wine pairing menus are additional options. The food is low-key and not as heavy as steakhouse fare, but still filling.


Sanford

Sanford is in the buzzing and diverse Lower East Side neighborhood, home to the renowned Lakefront Brewery. It is a chef-tasting-style restaurant in a modern atmosphere that does not allow children.

Sanford is an unassuming brick building facing North Jackson Street in a primarily residential area.  Sanford has a four-course prix fixe menu for private dining, along with a seven-course surprise meal available on certain nights.

Sample items from the four-course dining menu include molasses-glazed quail, grilled duck breast, and cucumber gazpacho. The surprise menu does not offer choices or customization, aside from allergy accommodations.


Kimpton Journeyman Hotel

The Kimpton Journeyman Hotel has several restaurants that have private dining options. The Outsider is an indoor/outdoor venue that accommodates up to 125 and has a bar-like atmosphere, while Tre Rivali is a traditional restaurant with a private room that fits 16 guests. The Kimpton is just down the street from Onesto and two blocks north of Catalano Square park. 

Tre Rivali serves Mediterranean-style food like lamb meatballs and has unique fare like Ricotta dumplings and woodfired pizzas. Draft beer and various wines are available for private dining too. The Outsider has upscale bar food like fried cheese curds and crudites. Both restaurants allow guests to customize their menus.
