So, if you’re looking to use Planoly, keep reading to learn how.
1. Create A Canva Account
What’s Canva and why is it necessary for you to know how to use it for Planoly?
Canva is a free and simple graphic-design tool website that LadyBossBlogger uses to create the graphics for our social media accounts, including Facebook, Instagram, Pinterest, and Twitter.
To use Canva, you’ll need to first make an account. Rest assured, it’s free!
2. Design An Image/Graphic
Once you’ve created an account and logged in, you’ll come upon this on your Canva home screen.
You first want to select the ‘Instagram Post’ option. **Check to ensure that the size is 1080 x1080 px.**
However, if you don’t see that option, go to the search bar and type in ‘Instagram Post,’ and it should show up.
Once the file has been opened, it should be white and blank.
Finally, you can design away!
There are plenty of different elements to add to your graphic, such as shapes, text, backgrounds, and photos of all different sizes and colors!
We have included an example from our own graphics below:
To save and download your completed design onto your laptop, click the arrow-down button in the top-right corner.
Then, check to make sure the FILE TYPE IS PNG.
You’ll want the SELECT PAGES option to appear as ‘All Pages’ if you want to download ALL of your designs. If you don’t want to download all of them, click the down-arrow under the ‘select pages’ option to choose the design(s) you want.
Then, press download when you’re ready!
Your downloads should appear in your ‘downloads’ folder/file on your laptop.
Additional tip: To keep your designs and downloads organized, create individual and labeled folders for each collection of designs you create that you’ll be scheduling on Planoly. You will save yourself time and confusion!
3. Schedule on Planoly
To schedule your beautiful designs on Planoly, follow these steps:
First, create an account on Planoly if you don’t already have one. Then link to your Instagram account.
To add your Canva designs to Planoly, simply click on the ‘Add to grid’ button located on the upper left corner.
Depending on where you saved your design files, choose the appropriate source to upload your designs.
Once uploaded, you can drag around the images to see how they’ll look on your feed. The little letter U at the top left of the image shows unscheduled posts while an S shows scheduled ones.
When you click on a specific image, you can write captions, tag accounts, and add locations to your photo before you schedule the day and time your image will be posted.
That’s it! Planoly will do the rest. Your post will be scheduled automatically.
Once you get the hang of using the website or app, you can do more with Planoly, such as planning out your Instagram stories and looking into analytics.
To become a master, all you have to do is practice! Follow our basic guide, and you’ll get the hang of it in no time.
