Top Restaurants with Private Dining Rooms in Oklahoma City

If you’re in Oklahoma City to go to a conference, a museum like the Museum of Osteology, or to visit family, you’ll find plenty of opportunities for private dining.  People have recently started calling OKC The Big Friendly. You’ll understand why after your dining experience.

I’ve had several private dining experiences in OKC, and I’m sure you and your guests will enjoy every morsel and moment of yours. I like Paseo for an appetizer to dessert experience, Nonesuch for their unique tasting adventures, and Patrono for Italian. However, my favorite menu (and venue) is at the trendy The Jones Assembly.

No matter if you have special occasions, a holiday party, or just like privacy, there are plenty of private rooms available for private dining in Oklahoma City. It’s easy to make a reservation, so the most difficult task will be deciding which restaurant to try first.

Cheever’s Cafe

2409 N Hudson Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73103
Phone: 405-525-7007
Visit Website

You can find Cheever’s Cafe in Paseo on the northwest corner of NW 23rd St. and N Walker Ave. It’s south of Goodholm Park, near the Oklahoma Hall of Fame, and reachable by bus 023. Cheever’s has a classy yet rustic feel with private dining options. It was a flower shop in the 1930s, a Cajun restaurant in the 1990s, and it now serves Oklahoma regional cuisine.

Almost every cafe in Oklahoma serves chicken-fried steak, but Cheever’s gives theirs a twist with jalapeno gravy topped with leeks. The shrimp and grits are worth returning for and are even better than at Nola’s in Tulsa. Be sure to save room for their decadent carrot cake.

Cattlemen’s Steakhouse

1309 S Agnew Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73108

Visit Website

Located in the Stockyards area near the OKC Rattlesnake Museum, you know to expect an Oklahoma cowboy experience inside Cattlemen’s Steakhouse. This 110-year-old steakhouse is on the southwest corner of Exchange St and S Agnew Ave (use bus 012). The restaurant has received numerous awards and mentions in food tv shows, magazines, and books. So, reserving a private room will keep you out of their notorious waiting lines.

Their Presidential t-bone is the dish Bush requested when visiting Oklahoma, and it’s the best I’ve ever had. It was tender and cooked perfectly. Be sure to end your meal with coconut cream pie. The pie has a mile-high meringue and is absolutely loaded with coconut.

Pearl’s Crabtown

303 E Sheridan Ave, Oklahoma City, OK 73104
Phone: 405-232-7227
Visit Website

You can’t miss Bricktown when you’re in OKC and shouldn’t miss Pearl’s Crabtown on your visit. Just take the D1 streetcar south of the Bricktown Station to the northeast corner of E. Sheridan Ave. and Vince Gill Ave. Pearl’s has a casual beach restaurant atmosphere. Their specialty is seafood and Cajun-inspired dishes.

If you’re not afraid to eat with your hands, your group will enjoy the seafood boil, complete with seafood, sausage, potatoes, and corn. Don’t even try to eat it alone. Their private party rooms fit 50, 80, or 200 people, so you won’t have to. I like their fried alligator appetizer, jambalaya with plenty of sausage and shrimp, and a fruity hurricane.

One option for private dining in Oklahoma City is their delightful heated patio. You can enjoy their firepit with a view of the pond and city. They also accommodate bar and formal dining groups.  I ordered the pecan-crusted salmon, but my friend let me taste her lobster mac and cheese, which was just as delicious.

Indian buffets are perfect for private group dining, with so many dietary-friendly options. Gopuram has a pleasant atmosphere, flavorful food, and a classy detached banquet facility. Gopuram is south of the Classic Corbin Park neighborhood. It’s in the parking lot with Howard Johnson on the SE corner of Meridian Ave. and SW 3rd St. The restaurant isn’t too far from OSU OKC, and you can take bus 009 to get there.

The food is authentic and reminds me of dishes I tasted while in India. My personal favorites are their chicken tikka masala and goat curry. Don’t miss the gulab jamun at the end of your meal.

When I visited for a romantic meal, we were awed by the spinach dip appetizer with lump crab. I adored their meatloaf with a chipotle red wine demi-glace, while my date was impressed with the surf and turf. They serve complimentary fresh fruit with homemade whipped cream for dessert.

The beef tenderloin tamales, brie platter, and crab cakes are all excellent appetizers. You can pick from seven crusts and seven sauces for each of their red meat options. However, the black truffle risotto side is phenomenal and really stole the show for me.

I love their sourdough bread, which comes with spiced balsamic butter. The pork chop is always a favorite. Even if you go with pasta, you can expect to be wowed. However, their almond cake with Luxardo cherries is an absolute revelation.
